"Mars time" mechanical watches rigged to run 39 minutes slow per day:
http://marsrovers.jpl.nasa.gov/spotl..._20040108.html and http://executivejewelers.com/mars/ Spirit two-step and watch story http://www.geocities.com/kent_betts2000/p5.html "They said it couldn't be done. But in the sleepy little town of Montrose, California, nestled in the hills surrounding JPL, master watchmaker Garo Anserlian of Executive Jewelers is perfecting a timepiece for hundreds of Earthlings bound to Mars' irregular day. Past the glass cases of what looks like an ordinary jewelry store is a workshop where watches are losing 39 minutes a day." |

Yes, I'm not claiming it's not a magnificent achievement. (however there should be some way round that annoyingly slow flash animation on www.nasa.gov) However, some of the statements coming out are so overblown that they are almost factually incorrect. |
