Default Location conversion

Could somebody please explain how my location 52.29.370N becomes 52.4936N in
some of my astronomy programs.

52 degrees = 52 degrees
29 arc minutes = 29/60 degrees = 0.483333333 degrees
37 arc seconds = 37/3600 degrees = 0.010277778 degrees

Add them all together and you get

52 deg 29 arcmin 37 arcsec = 52.493611111 degrees, or 52.4936 degrees
to 4dp.
