slooh CCD images

I have had limited experience with CCD cameras, but have taken a number of
images using remotely operated telescopes through the Telescopes in
Education program. Could someone explain how the images are "captured" in
the Slooh.com program? How do they get color images? We had to take images
using 3 different filters and then combine them to get color photos.
