Maybe, but that has nothing to do with the current Meade SNTs. They display
sharp images, good contrast, and better edge of field performance than a
comparable focal ratio Newtonian.

I'm sure Meades SNT's are better than the scopes from the 80's! Plus now days
collimation is easy with center dotted mirrors and better collimation tools!!!
