Default JimO on 'Daily Planet' re SS1

Jim appears on 'Daily Planet' TV show re SpaceShipOne

Re Rutan's SpaceShipOne and the X-Prize....
My on-the-scene video report from Mojave, California, was
on DISCOVERY-CANADA's special news report, and
then on their 'Daily Planet' evening show October 4, at
http://www.exn.ca/dailyplanet/view.asp?date=10/4/2004

Find the paragraph and click on the video icon titled:
Reaction from Mojave
So what's next? With Spaceship One's successful launch,
does it mean the future for commercial space travel is near?
Jay talks to space expert James Oberg from the Mojave Desert
about the flight today and what it means for the future.

The CNN set-up was right next to ours
and I often drifted over there between our shoots
to hear what THEIR guests were saying, so I
could quote them -- like the words from
Erik Lindbergh, that I used in mt
ieee spectrum article.

Speaking of Jim Oberg and the Space Ship One flight I was watching
the coverage of SS1 and after the flights CNN was interviewing
people. I swear that I saw Jim Oberg standing somewhere in
the background. I have never seen Oberg in person, but I have
seen him on TV a number of times.

First I thought "Why don't they interview him?" and then I
remembered Oberg is a reporter and commentator for another
TV network. CNN probably wasn't even happy that he made
it into their picture.

At one point during the web-cast someone was asked a facts and figures
trivia question and suggested they find Jim "...who is around here
somewhere. He's good at that sort of stuff".

Right, that was Rick Searfoss,
an old buddy of mine from JSC days.
