I have questions about models of the universe that represent the growth
of the size of the universe with time. I know that the open model has a hyperbolic shape and its density is between 0 and 1. The flat model has no curvature and its density is equal to 1. The closed model has a spherical shape and its density is greater than 1. What I can't find is the accelerating model. My books have no information at all. My questions are : 1. What is the shape of the accelerating model? What is the density of the accelerating model? Which of the four models has a universe full of dark energy causing the rate of expansion to increase with time? My guess is the flat or open model. Thanks to Odysseus for helping me last time. I got a perfect score on the homework and a perfect score on the test. Thanks in advance |

It's also the mass/density that makes the universe expansion slow down. However there seems to be an other force that overcompensates the slowing down of the expansion by mass, which makes the expansion accelerate. So this force may change the density in a way the shape will change over time as well. I think until we know the nature of that force it's not easy to tell alot about the shape of the universe over time. I'd really like to know what some experts have to say about this. ![]() 2: So there are really three models. All with the possibility of an increasing expansion over time. We dont know exactly what makes this acceleration happen yet. Dark energy is called "dark" because of this reason ![]() probably end up really flat. Floris Kuik |

At the expanding horizon of the universe time must be getting slower and
slower in relation to our time. Time does indeed obey the inverse square law. Bert |

Say, illustrated by Russian Constructivist painter, Malevich ~ Or my lovely postcard painting, Right here in my hand: By Great Painter, Stephen Cimini. Smart stuff, Primoridal color field, Rich soup ~ Grown up ripe. _______ Blog, or dog? Who knows. But if you see my lost pup, please ping me!
