In 2000 a wacko called Welch wrote a book called "Comet of Nostradamus".
He predicted that a gigantic comet - previously predicted by Nostradamus
no less - would arrive about August 19, 2004, to scorch southern France
and central Italy before exploding just off the coast of Greece. Dust
and debris from the explosion is supposed to linger for months, blocking
the sun and ruining crops. But wait, there's definitely more. Its
effects are so great that Greece becomes a soft target for Islamic
radicals who, aided by Iran, seize control of Turkey. Escalating war
ultimately engulfs most of the countries of the Mediterranean and
beyond.

Unlikely... he doesn't acknowledge mistakes. It is much more typical that
he will totally ignore (if not outright deny) the fact that he ever made
this prediction in the first place. But why not put him in your killfile
now, and save yourself the trouble of listening to his pathetic
obfuscation.

I recall there was supposed to be a Nostradamus prediction of something
major in 1999. When the day came and went with nothing noticeable
happening, some people tried to postpone the demise of the prediction by
pointing out that Nostradamus was using the Julian calendar, which by
now is about 13 days or something off from the Gregorian calendar.

Of course, if Nostradamus was so smart, how come he hadn't predicted the
change of calendars?
