Default NASA Genesis mission

This GENESIS probe, the one that went out to LaGrange point 1 between Earth
and Sun, collected particles of the solar wind, and will actually return to
Earth in September with samples...

....That's a first isn't it, besides the Apollo manned missions, a probe that
actually returns a physical sample to Earth.

Of course, if bad movies have taught me anything, it's at this point that
the flesh-melting, zombie-causing extraterrestrial virus gets loose on
Earth, but... (kidding!)

No, that's in January 2006 when Stardust returns a comet sample and we
find that Fred Hoyle was right after all :-)
It's the first US mission since Apollo to return a sample, but the
Russians did an unmanned sample return in 1976.

It may beat the comet one back, but Stardust is returning with samples
collected from a comet's tail.

I wonder what type of precautions they will take to prevent John the
Scientists strep throat from showing up in the sample, and to keep the alien
flesh eating virus out of John?

According to http://www.nasa.gov/missions/solarsystem/f_genesis.html
they will use "ultra-pure clean-room conditions". And
http://www.space.com/businesstechnol...o_guards_02021
3.html notes that they are worried about the wrong sort of molecules
contaminating the samples!
Doing a search for genesis nasa containment, or stardust nasa
containment (Stardust is the comet probe due back next year) is
instructive, but I'm surprised there haven't been stories saying "Stop
Stardust". Or did I just miss them?
