We are informed that there are objects in the universe lying at a distance of
nearly 14 billion light years. Does this mean that the 'diameter' is 14 billion light years or simply 14 billion light years in one direction? If it is only in one direction, would it be prudent to virtually double that distance and say it is approximately 28 billion light years from one end of the spectrum to the other? Your comments please. Regards, Jack Walsh. |
