Default Color Moon mosaics

Hi,

I've made two new mosaics of the Moon with a ToucamPro, and this time, these
are colour pictures.
First one, on the 13th day
http://images.ciel.free.fr/Eversion/Moon/Moon13d.html and if you want there
is a large version of it here
http://images.ciel.free.fr/Images_l/..._02_04_big.jpg (but it's one
megabyte

Second one, on the 16th day
http://images.ciel.free.fr/Eversion/Moon/Moon16d.html but there was much
more turbulence, so the picture is not as good as the first one.

Do you prefer colour pictures or b&w ones ?

I also tried pictures of Jupiter, but they are too ugly to be shown here

I checked out the large shot, fantastic! Even the small view is beautiful,
and detailed, I don't remember seeing such detail with my old scope back in
the 60's and early 70's, and so far have not done any moon watching yet with
the new scope.

It is so much better than the moon shots that are in my books that I feel it
would be worth printing out and using it for my map, it would certainly be a
lot more detailed. What I am going to do is bookmark this and check it out
before, and after, viewing the moon in the scope.

I really like it, every time I look at it I see things I don't even remember
seeing before.

Second one, on the 16th day
http://images.ciel.free.fr/Eversion/Moon/Moon16d.html but there was much
more turbulence, so the picture is not as good as the first one.

Still awfully good.

I like black and white more than color, at least on the moon, for some reason
it seems just a touch sharper. Besides, the moon is pretty damned gray to
begin with.

Thanks for your comments.
I'm surprised that my picture could be more detailed than your books
Let me know the result of your comparisons between the picture and what you
see in your scope, when you'll have made them.

Fantastic detail!

Do you prefer colour pictures or b&w ones ?

I suppose b&w would be sharper because there would be less abberation,
but I do like to see the faint purples and yellows in the mares/marias.

Thanks for sharing,
Paul.

Stunning pictures Norbert, thank you

I know I would have to work VERY hard to get such a good image

Now just out of interest, looking at a good image like that, would it be
possible - if I knew where I should be looking which I don't - to see
something as comparably small as one of the lunar landers...?!

I guess not, it'd be a little like looking for my own home on a picture of the
Earth taken from the moon.....!?

Just thinking to the keyboard...!

Not a lot of work, just a great care, and a bit of patience

Now just out of interest, looking at a good image like that, would it

No. To see such a small object, you would need a 2000 meters telescope.
That's optics laws, and you can't do anything against them.

I guess not, it'd be a little like looking for my own home on a
picture of the Earth taken from the moon.....!?

Fine comparison ;-)

You can't see the landers from Earth but there is at least one picture from
lunar orbit.
