It seems as though the Meade £130 hard cases for the ETX-105 are out of stock,
and have been for some time. Whilst looking for alternative suppliers, I was disappointed, again(!), to find that our cousins in the US can buy them for considerably less than what we have to find. (~ 80$ from memory, but shipping here is quite expensive). Then I remembered that a few weeks ago, I'd bought a workman's toolbox from "Focus Do It All" for about £7:50. And the ETX-105EC plus dewshield fits quite nicely (I bet the dewshield doesn't have a place in the £130 case!), so all I need now is some foam to provide some cushioning. The toolbox is lockable, and there's even space in the lid area for a Barlow, other eyepieces, level and compass, spare batteries etc. Cheers -- M Stewart Milton Keynes, UK www.megalith.freeserve.co.uk/oddimage.htm http://myweb.tiscali.co.uk/ms1938/ |
