Hey Painius
I see you're mixing it up with SDR. You're gonna have some real fun with this dude. His definition of space is "where matter isn't" (unless he's changed his view, which i doubt). Ask him to explain the literal mechanism of gravity, without resorting to abstracts or 'metrics'. oc |

I'm not even close to being in his league. I could have *never* come up with such a grand "pita" remark. Besides, Rodrian likes those quasi-realtime conversations, the kind that i can only rarely enjoy due to my job. Most others understand that i sometimes get busy and have to be away for days at a time. This would only bore the ol' reptile. And anyway, i already know why he keeps asking about inertia... ....he's looking for a cure. g happy days and... starry starry nights! -- Be very wary... For Life will zoom past ya, Tis now time to say-- Tempus fugit ad astra! Indelibly yours, Painius |

Hi oc Can't we say the brain is "all" and could we think of the
"soul" like "free will" Do you think computers someday will have a soul? Well the father of the computer was Alan Turing and he was convinced that computers would have consciousness. Still I hate when a computer tells me my call is important to it. Next I hate when it tells me to have a nice day. Go figure(computers do that best) Bert PS Like Darla could not fix her space ships space drive How many of us can fix their computer? |

From Bert:
Can't we say the brain is "all" and.... Do you think computers someday will have a soul? =A0 =A0 =A0 Well the father of the computer was Alan Turing and he was convinced that computers would have consciousness. Well, 'consciousness' does not appear to be based on the binary 'on-off' code of computers. Rather, the brain and mind appear to operate more on the holographic principle. There is a wealth of info on this, particularly in the work of Bohm and Pribram. You are dead set against Googling, but here is a sample anyway- http://twm.co.nz/pribram.htm Wolter said that binary-based computers, no matter how sophisticated or powerful, will never amount to more than a "souped-up adding machine". For a computer to attain anything resembling consciousness or 'soul' it would have to be holographically based. oc |

Hi oc It is to bad Turing killed himself at 42 for he would be best to
answer you. I'm probably talking over my head but first let me say man does not know what conscious reality really is. Could we program a computer as 1 meaning "true" and everything or 0 meaning "false or nothing (tricky stuff) I have questions like are computers getting smarter or are they merely becoming more adaptable and versatile? I'm so stupid I would not even know the difference. Well oc this gives me tomorrows "what if" Bert |
