don't, but since this one is for the UK, it may. In that case, please accept my apologies for replying to a Spanish posting in that language. Personally I don't mind if a poster needs to post in another language (as long as it is on topic). It might be nice for anybody replying who understood the language to post not only the reply, but a translation of the origianl post as well, this way the poster may get more replies. just a thought, Box -- Boxington Headmaker -=Excess is Never Enough=- ( Posting from work ) ---===================--- Q: What goes "Pieces of seven! FWIW you can read the charter here http://www.usenet.org.uk/uk.sci.astr....sci.astronomy Given that the target audience is "within the UK", and the dominant language here is English (or some corrupted form of it, eg Estuarine, Scouse etc) it would seem sensible. There's also a general usenet principle that in a group within a national heirarchy, you post in the language of that nation, eg in the fr.* heirarchy, use french. Meanwhile in the non-national heirarchies, you should /always/ use english, unless the group specifies otherwise. Or so I've discerned, over nearly 20 years of using usenet. -- Mark McIntyre CLC FAQ http://www.eskimo.com/~scs/C-faq/top.html CLC readme: http://www.angelfire.com/ms3/bchambless0/welcome_to_clc.html ----== Posted via Newsfeed.Com - Unlimited-Uncensored-Secure Usenet News==---- http://www.newsfeed.com The #1 Newsgroup Service in the World! 100,000 Newsgroups ---= 19 East/West-Coast Specialized Servers - Total Privacy via Encryption =--- |

It's not the uk part but the sci part that requires English, since English is the only language of accuracy. For example the French call it eau, the Germans wasser, the Italians aqua, but only the English call it water which is what the stuff actually IS.
