Reading and Newbury Astronomical Societies are teaming up for next weeks
National Astronomy Week as follows. More details can be found at http://www.readingastro.org.uk Wed 27th & Thu 28th August ========================== Mars observing nights. Dinton Pastures, Winnersh Reading from 8.30pm, entrance free. For a location map see http://tinyurl.com/kr4u. Use the societies' telescopes to see The Red Planet at its closest approach for 60,000 years. There will be many telescopes at Dinton Pastures with experts on hand to help and give advice on how use them. Sat 30th August =============== National Astronomy Week exhibition. The Friend's Meeting House, 2 Church Street (off London Street) Reading from 11am to 6pm, entrance free. Close to central car parks and Oracle shopping centre. Planetarium shows every hour, telescope displays, computers, activities for children (including model making), slideshows, short talks, meteorite display and lots more. Refreshments.
