After getting home from that brain frying walk yesterday, I closed up the
trailer, took some asprin and passed out with the swamp cooler going full blast. I woke up near 2am and had to fix something to eat. About 3am I went out to my garden to soak up some of the coool night air, while sitting there I watch the moon slowly climb up and watched as venus came up too. I wasn't realy out there to view anything, but I did look up and I did count about 8 metors in the 40 mins I was out there, all coming from the same area, so just maybe I was catching the front edge of the shower? Came back inside and passed out until 8am and ran my water hose out to the garden. Suppost to be as high today too. -- "And for the second time in four million years, the monolith awoke." Hi Dennis, A couple of friends and myself were observing from Mt. Pilchuck last night until a little after midnight and saw several nice meteors in a couple of hours. I wasn't looking in the right place at the right time, but they saw a really nice one. . .said it left a trail and was quite bright. They screamed, yelled, jumped up and down, and generally went wacko for a while but, then again, a great meteor can do that to a person !!!! -- Martin "Photographs From the Universe of Amateur Astronomy" http://home.earthlink.net/~martinhowell |

Was out trying out my Tasco last night (still can't see anything with the ruddy thing) and got a really pleasent suprise by seeing the brightest entry I have ever seen; it actually left a sizable vapour trail too! Very neat stuff!! :-) |

Must have been the same one I saw up here in Duncan, Vancouver Island, British Columbia. Your friends were right......it was quite spectacular! :-) |

I'm sure there's some kind of great cosmic law that all bright meteors happen behind us, so everyone but us sees them. g |
