Default Starry Night Pro and W98SE

Starry Night Pro installs OK on my W98SE machine, which has 128Meg of RAM
and plenty of disk space, but it won't run. "This program has performed an
illegal operation and will be shut down." or something similar.
It does install and run OK on another machine running XP.
Has anyone had a similar experience? Has anyone found a fix? I would be
grateful for any thoughts.

Go to the Starry Night website -- download and install the latest update(s)
to the program.

I run Starry Night Pro on a WinXP machine -- however -- I ran Win98 until
about four months ago and as I recall, I had the same problem until I
downloaded and installed the update.

Starry Night Pro's web site claims it will run on a machine with
your specifications. Sometimes problems like these are related to
graphics drivers. It may be possible to update a driver and cure
the problem.

What is the recommended resources for running Starry Night Pro?

Starry Night Pro is quite graphics intensive so perhaps you should
make sure you have the latest DirestX components via Windows Update.
Also Run "dxdiag" to see and test your systems version.

Hope this helps some!

I think it's an OpenGL issue. There is an update for this on the Starry
Night web site.

Thank you all for your suggestions. It won't run as it stands on the W98
machine and it won't update on the W98 machine. We'll leave it on the XP
machine and be thankful it works at all.
