Default Okay, ready to jump in

I'm getting a $5K tax refund (yea!) this year and after dealing with
cheapy telescopes, I ready to dive in headlong. What should I get? I
know this question is too broad, so here are my requirements:

* Mostly visual, though I'd like the option of astrophotography one
day
* Think I'd like GOTO
* Would like it to be reasonably portable
* Must wow friends

The brands / types of scopes I'm considering are Questar, Televue and
Starmaster. What are the pros and cons of each? I think I'm willing
to go up to about $6K.
