Default Making a 5" Reflector Telescope

I have a 5" f/8 mirror and desire to build a grab and go scope. Does
anyone have any good sites with plans for building a scope of this size?

Thanks,
Scott

Download and install Dale Keller's excellent newtonian design program.

http://home.att.net/~dale.keller/atm...t/newtsoft.htm

The tube is usually an inch larger in diameter than the primary mirror
size. The space from the end of the focuser to the front end of the
tube should be at least the diameter of the primary 5" in this case."
With aprox 2-3 inches from the end of the primary to the end of the
tube. Id use a 1.25 inch focuser vice a 2".

Next check out www.astrosystems.biz or

http://www.universityoptics.com/

That should get you going. If it were me unless you just want to use a
5" mirror and you want to stay in that range Id sell the 5" and go
with a 6" F8 mirror. Mirrors usually come in 6 8 10 inches.

Best of luck

Rich

Scott try sidewalk astronomy websearch. The plans can be used with most
