Default AP 130 vs. TV127

Has anybody got any ideas on why the TV127 is over a thousand dollars
more than the AP130?

I wonder if it's the premium you pay for only having to wait 6 months.

As I compared the two prices with other scopes, I was surprised to find
that even the TMB was more than the AP.

If you factor out the wait (i wish)...the AP is actually the best buy of
the bunch.

I can't afford any of them, so I just like to talk about them!

Probably because TV has one lens group more (Petzval design) and this adds
some difficulties in mechanics making.

AP's scopes are made in the USA. TMB scopes are made in Russia (LZOS plant,
optics) and Germany (unknown mechanical shop, mechanics), then assembled by
APM (Markus Ludes) and then sold by APM through TMB Optical and Astronomics.
LZOS, mechanical shop, APM, TMB and Astronomics - they all have their profits
here. Also, shipping, insurance, export, import fees (through 3 countries).
May be I missed something?

Attractive price is also a factor of a wait list existance.

If you will save some money during wait period, it may happens, that you
will be able to buy one. Why not?

Yeah you missed that as far as the USA TMB's are concerned that Thomas
back checks all the opitics that are sold through him before they move onto his
cusotomers and Astrononmics

Yeah the AP 130 F6 is a really nice scope I've had mine now for about 8
years and only paid $2800 dollars for it. I told people on SAA they should
consider getting one but all I got was a bunch of grief. Since that time I've
acquired an AP 155 F7 the 10 inch Mak and the 92mm Stowaway as well as a Tak
FS-78. All are keepers

- One possible cause of prices differences may be the weight of OTA.
Some companies charging less because of waiting,
some - charging per lb of OTA weight, the beefier scope for sure will
be more expensive.
Just my 2c.
