Viewing Sun with Baader Solar film

Hi All,

With Baader Solar Film, Will I be able to see Granular view of Sun and Dark Spots?? I have Celestron 127 Power Seeker telescope.

Have any one used baader Solar film with Baader Solar Continuum Filter.. With this combination Will I able to see granule and flare/ Prominence ??

Yes. You will see bright faculae as well. How much detail you see will
depend on the atmospheric seeing so some days are better than others.

Always check it for pinholes before use and make sure there is no
possibility of the filter falling off or being blown away by the wind.

To see prominences you need a narrow band H-alpha filter with a FWHM of
better than 2A (0.2nm) the better ones these days are 0.7A (0.07nm) at
which point you need to tune it to allow for Doppler shift as well.

It is easier to see prominences on the limb with the wider band 2A
filter but to see any H-alpha detail on the disk you need the narrower
0.7A (more expensive) filter. The disk is too bright otherwise.

Make sure if you mount your own, the film isn't stretched tought.

Thanks All, For your Advise.
I mounted my own film in a box not much tight.. I saw two sunspots.. In 4 mm I was able to see umbra and Penumbra. not able to see granule and faculae may due to seeing condition;

Yes H-alpha filter is out of my financial reach

Seeing conditions viewing the sun are generally poor. You have to wait for those few seconds when it steadies out to see things like granulation.
