Although I am not an astrophotograher, I am quite proud of that image which was taken on the Equinox insofar as the walls of that cave are made from the exact same material as the passageways of Newgrange which will light up in a few days with the rising Sun on the Solstice -

Behind the image of a natural cave is an incredible story of astronomy,geological evolution and human involvement in timekeeping. The rock of the cave walls are given the awful name 'greywacke' and were laid down on the ocean floor when the great diversity of land creatures had to appear on the surface. The rocks form a partition between two ancient continents as is known as the Iapetus suture which forms the modern day Shannon river with the rocks emerging on the East coast at that cave -

So, a simple picture can tell a great story if given room to breathe and regardless of the huge changes in the geological surface conditions of the planet, the great motions of the Earth are so much older and encompassing and that is a humbling experience.
