Sunday, bob haller quipped:

CBS news had a insider leak about the water problem, everyone else went with all was well....... Uh, no, NBC also reported the space suit problem, which was discovered when the astrounauts were back in the airlock. And instead of covering it up, NASA explained tha the slip of Monday's walk to Tuesday as being due to getting the backup suit ready for the spacewalk because of the water problem. The link I posted to the NBC article is over in .station, where station topics are typically covered. But as usual, there is not a heck of a lot to discuss until there's been more examination of the suits. Other than noting that the snorkels weren't needed, the "early warning" pads never got squishy, and the current understanding of the summer failure is that it was due to a clogged filter; the early reports are that there is likely to be a different cause for water in the sublimnator. /dps -- Who, me? And what lacuna? |
