Default Telescope workshop

Mr Robert T Little reminds that on Saturday 22 November 2003 his
telescope workshop convenes in Cadman Plaza, Brooklyn. The session
starts at 13h EST in the first floor community room of 75 Henry St,
in the tower where Bob lives. The usual closing is 15h, but with
interest, it may continue a while longer.
Please register in advance for the workshop by sending an SASE to
'Robert Little, #5A, 75 Henry Street, Brooklyn NY 11210'. There is a
$5 fee for the session, which you pay at the door. For general
questions, ring him up at 718-855-7804.
All novice telescope owners are quite welcome to take part. Club
affiliation is not required. There is litterature at the meeting for
local astronomy clubs and for NYSkies, a separate independent
Yahoogroups maillist.
The workshop is conducted with handouts, specimen small scopes,
blackboard work, and open discussion. Mr Little covers the major
optics and stands for home instruments, basic celestial geography,
tips and pointers for handling scopes, and simple astrophotography.
This session is specially important for those considering
telescopes as yearend holiday gifts.
This location is a couple blocks from Clark St on IRT 7th Av and
High St on IND Fulton St (8th Av) subways. At Boro Hall, a
ha'kilometer to the south, are the Boro Hall statons of IRT Lexington
Av and BMT Montague St subways.
Brooklyn buses which go to Boro Hall, Cadman Plaza, Fulton Ferry
pass near the meeting. For those who drive, there's a public garage a
block away.
Nourishment is at a restaurant, also a block away.
Note that this location is next to the Cadman Plaza starviewing
site, whose sessions are now finished for the 2003 season.
On entering the tower, ask the lobby desk for Bob Little and be
directed to the meeting room on the first floor.
