Do you create video content to share your love of astronomy? If so,
here's your chance to win some cash, and if you simply like to vote on
things, we can help with that too.

Back in 2007 I started an online prize to help spark and reward the
creation of quality physics content (including astro phys). Basically,
I invite content creators to list their videos over at http://www.phylm.org
I then ask the public to vote on the
videos, and the top vote getter (assuming scientific accuracy) gets
$100.

This is our fourth year, and you can find rules (on a nice one-page
handout) and links to previous winners at http://www.phylm.org

If you make videos, I hope you'll consider entering them. If not, I
hope you'll head over and vote on what's there.

If you have any questions, please don't hesitate to ask.

Sincerely,
David A. Colarusso

Oh I think this is a timely video given an anniversary of a physical
catastrophe -

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=yiCXb1Nhd1o

The intellectual Chernobyl, unlike its physical counterpart, surfaced
over the centuries in terms of the belief in human control over time
or even global temperatures,in the no center/no circumference
ideologies of big bang, black hole and what have you and the loss of
basic astronomical facts, all these things have an epicenter back a few
centuries ago when mathematicians tried to displace the language of
astronomy with highly speculative ideologies.

The accident of Chernobyl, terrible as it was, pales in comparison to
the widespread damage to Western civilization which centers on the
creation and perpetuation of lies which defy common experience and far
from being a harmless endeavor,it is eroding the ability to think
clearly and act decisively in areas that really matter such as nuclear
energy.

You will not find a love of astronomy here, you will only find self-
interest.
