OKC Amateurs?

Hey All,

I got married this past week and am going to be moving to Oklahoma City by
the end of the month. Are there any Amateur Astronomer's here from that
area?

I am FROM there Just displaced in Ohio Since 1985 8*).

There is one or twp large astronomy clubs in the OKC area though so you
shouldn't have too much trouble locating an Observing partner. 8*)

i am. :-) midwest city, ok is a suburb. i'm in the phone directory if
you want to give me a call. there are also a couple astronomy clubs.

the big one is:

if you live in town or to the north or west of town, that's probably the
best. if you live to the east of downtown, there's a very small club that
meets in mccloud (about 20-30 miles southeast). don't believe that they
have a web site, but, you can reach one of their members (and its former
president) by looking up "Steve's pro shop and astronomical equipment" (or
something like that) in the phone book. Steve sells gear related to his two
hobbies from his small shop here in midwest city (bowling and scopes).

finally, in case you didn't make the connection, astronomics is located
south of town in norman. so, when you're on your way to one of those sooner
football games you can check into the latest in scopes (not really--they're
closed to retail shopping on saturdays). :-)

Thank's for the info Mark. We will be living off of NW 29th in the
Musgrave-Pennington(?) neighborhood.

I went by the Kirkpatrick Omniplex while out there last week and spoke with
the director of the Planetarium. He gave a good bit of info, but seemed
stand offish and pressed for time or something. I may give you a shout when
I'm out there permanently.
