There is a huge barrier of a cold front/ low pressure responsible for this.
My guess is that if it does make landfall it will be a storm with high winds and rain, a tropical depression maybe |

You are lucky!! We can't do that in PA....one of only
two states that have state-controlled state-stores (Utah is the other)...can't purchase alcoholic bev. in grocery stores. Its all state-controlled, as in USSR Communism. :-( Tom W. They tried putting booze in grocery stores here but got shot down. The cashiers would go crazy asking for ID from every booze hungry kid that looked underage otherwise many probably get away with alcohol who are underage. Booze related violence and accidents are much higher in the US where "control" is generally lax. |

I've always been paranoid of spring-time thunderstorms knocking the power
out----which of course would stop my sump pump from working. But for some reason I never bought a generator. After the blackout I again thought I should have a generator. Of course I didn't buy one. Even though we're only expected to get heavy rain and maybe high winds, this time I did it. We've got our house up for sale and no way was I going to take the chance of having the power go out and the basement flood. Bring on the rain and wind---I've got 5000 watts of available power now at my disposal! It was actually quite hard to find a generator today.
