I didn't find it hard. On the other hand, I heard that the guy who runs
Astromart had trouble with accounts from some email and Internet providers
that caused problems running Astromart, so he's careful concerning who
gets access to the site. While many have complained about this, I feel
this is his right, and that some of the blame must reside with the various
providers. Hotmail I believe is one provider that is not favored by
Astromart,
but can someone confirmed this?

Hello all,
I am going with 2 questions here.

First is getting and acct on astromart like pulling teeth? I find it
harder to in there than the pants of a preachers daughter.

Second..I won an ebay aution on a 4.5 in mirror and 1.18 in
secondary...Are there plans for a scope this small on the net.I tryed
Sidewalks and found 6 inch dob plans there but figure with all the net
has to offer there must be plans for a 4.5 in out there?

I can answer the first question. No, I did not find getting an account on
astromart difficult. I just fill out my info. and then wait for the
verification which might take a few days depending on how busy they are.
Why is that so hard? I've been active on Astromart for little over a year.
I look at it like a big astro-gear bank where I can rent some equipment for
a while.

Have fun with your future 4.5" dob,

Hi,

For the telescope plans try "Build your own telescope" by Richard Berry,
Amazon.com or an auction may be sources for this. This book has plans for 5
scopes - 4.5 in f/10 Eq, 6 in f/8 dobs, 6 in f/8 eq, 10 in dobs and 6 in
f/15 refractor. The plans could be scaled for other sizes and focal lengths
from those given without too much trouble.

Plans for a dob are generic at best. Everybody gets a different size mirror
and the diameter drives the size of the box and the focal length drives the
length of the tube assy and the materials used an the mirror weight
determine the position of the bearings on the tube. Thus, there are no
plans for making a scope of any particular size. You can't as there are too
many different variables.

Hey, maybe they just want your info to sell to marketers and are done with

you
when they have that. But be VERY sure you got your
e-mail address correct when you signed up. I have once put a * where I

meant
to put a @, and it is hard to contact someone without some good guessing

if the
address is incorrect.

I run a business that normally receives about 300 emails a day. Many of our
emails are going astray owing to the recent viruses that have attacked emails.
Agressive spam filters, virus filters, and other things are causing this. Some
ISP's have been banned by other ISP's because of virus activity and many
individual accounts have been banned. Email is a big mess right now. Hope it
clears up soon.

Attempted to creat an account awhile back, When I try to log-on it says an
email confirmation has been sent to my email address to validate account,
but I never receved that email. Email adress is correct also.

When I hit the button to resend , again it never gets in my inbox to
validate.

Emails to Herb/Support seem to be igonred, So I'm thinking my account was
never approved????

Anyone else have this problem??
My email security settings are not that tight to where it woyld bounce back
that confirmation email
