Default A CCD question.

What would be a fairly inexpensive CCD that would work well with a Nexstar
8i? Does anyone here use a CCD with an 8i?

Thanks,
Michael

Hi Michael,

As a start, you can't beat the MX7 series cameras. They are compact, light
and very easy to use in the field. On the used market, these seem to go for
$1000 to $1200, some including USB and Star2000 guiding capabilities! I
have the MX7C one-shot and have been very happy with it. The chip is also
interchangeable with the MX716 mono camera and can be done by the user. I'm
now playing with the megapixel SXV-H9C (on loan to me), which is also a
one-shot. Excellent camera and just as compact, light and easy to use!

Take care,

Alan
