That's usually 48 hours at most, even for extremely serious crimes the
time spent behind bars is limited to a couple of Happy Meals.

“During the pursuit the suspect was observed throwing debris out the
driver side window in an apparent effort to create obstacles for the
pursuing deputy. Items thrown from the vehicle included, "The
Club" (anti-theft device), large fencing staples, a gasoline can, and
even a pair of pants,” Dickerson said.
The injured passenger was flown in a Lifeflight helicopter to Legacy
Emanuel Hospital with life-threatening injuries. The driver was
declared dead at the scene. No names have been released.
The vehicle, a 1989 Nissan 240SX was reported stolen to Portland
Police on June 26.

This most recent AA post rules out that police chase and crash, unless
he was using the WiFi network of the Legacy Emanuel Hospital. I’m
also pretty sure AA is older than 37.

“The driver killed in a single vehicle crash that followed a high-
speed chase Sunday night in rural Columbia County has been identified
as Brooks Jay Anderson, 33, of St. Helens, Ore., according to the
Oregon State Police.
Anderson died in an explosive fire caused by the crash, which occurred
as he was attempting to elude authorities while driving a stolen 1989
Nissan 240SX on Scappoose-Vernonia Highway. Anderson drove over a
spike strip placed on the roadway and the vehicle caught fire,
trapping both Anderson and a passenger inside.
Columbia County Sheriff's Deputy Ryan Dews, who had been pursuing the
car, and Vernonia Police Officer Shawn Carnahan pulled passenger
Robert Regan from the burning vehicle, but were unable to rescue
Anderson.
Regan, 37, was transported by LifeFlight to Legacy Emanuel Hospital
with serious injuries.
At the time of the crash, Anderson was wanted on seven outstanding
felony and misdemeanor warrants, according to OSP. The Oregon State
Police continues to investigate the crash.”
