Well, I came close to getting a FORD Ranger (1971) today, guy said he'd take
$300 for it, but all I had is $200 and he'll not hold title while I pay off the rest. -- "In this universe the night was falling, the shadows were lengthening towards an east that would not know another dawn. But elsewhere the stars were still young and the light of morning lingered: and along the path he once had followed, man would one day go again." Arthur C. Dennis: If you think this truck is in reasonable shape, repairable and worth the bucks, tell the guy you're buying. I'm good right now for $50 and I am sure there are others who will chip in as well. Dennis is gonna need a bit more for registration, insurance etc so I say lets do it. jon isaacs |

Ya, right, just what I need to go to the store and to take the scope up to the
corner, and run a refill hose from the gas station over to the corner! The guy sent photos (e-mail) to me and for it's age it looks good. but right at this time, he's not answered the e-mail giving him a the deal of holding title while I paid off the extra 100, so right now it looks to be a no deal. He's got the truck in the L.A. Recycler ad paper, so I figure he'll hold off to see if anyone goes for it after thursday's paper hits the stands. -- "In this universe the night was falling, the shadows were lengthening towards an east that would not know another dawn. Dennis, I just put a check for $25.00 in an ep to you that will go out in
tomorrow's mail. I appreciate you having hosted the buyers FAQ these past years. Yours was one of my first ever astronomy bookmarks. Whether you can get in on this truck or you have to continue the hunt, all the best to you. Look for the mail with the Bat stamp on it. -Paul S. Get something decent and I mean....something that you won't have to
constantly worry about breaking down and I'll pitch in $50. If enough of us SAAers have the heart, health and commitment to help out one of our own, the deed WILL be done and you'll be able to continue to do the sidewalk astronomy that we all *really* appreciate you doing. Done it myself way back when, in a place called Vienna Austria, with my 3" Edmund reflector..... Best regards, Bill "Starlord" wrote in message ... Dennis,
I'm putting a check for $50 in the mail tomorrow. It looks like you can count on getting the Ranger, or do as Bill suggests and hold out for something better. I suspect you'll get more help on this but AFAIC it's your call.
