Default EQ platforms for Big Dobs

I have a 16 inch truss tube dob on order and I intend on getting Sky
Commander DSC's on it. This is my question: The builder of these scopes
offers the ServoCat GO-TO system by Argo Navis to be used with Sky
Commander - whole package is $2,400. But I'm more interested in the
tracking than the GO-TO. I was wondering about the possibility of adding a
platform with the DSC's without the GO-TO. I wonder if it would be any less
expensive? Could any of you folks steer me to the sources who make good EQ
platforms for big dobs?

Thanks,
Jason Fry

I don't have any personal experience with them, but the platforms at
http://www.johnsonian.com look pretty interesting.

Tom Osypowski makes the best ones. Just search for EQ platforms.

Thanks for your posts. Those are the sort of sites I was looking for.
