Great shot! I couldn't help but notice it wasn't with the N11...what
gives????

Clear skies,
Jeff

Hi Jeff:

Miss NS11 is alive and well. The problem is the backyard. In the height of
summer I have only about a 15 degree wide strip of sky that goes up to about 30
degrees in altitude. Luckily, I can position myself so that this covers part of
the ecliptic.

Oh, I know I could do a Quick align or similar, but I know where Polaris is,
even if I can't see it, and the good old Ultima 8 with its primitive RA drive
:-) is probably at least as accurate tracking-wise if not more so than a
half-assed NS alignment. Frankly, it's been so hazy and icky that I doubt I
could even find one star to align the 11 on. Never fear, with fall and winter
coming on, I'll turn the 11 loose on Jupe and Saturn! :-)

Peace,
Rod Mollise

HI Guys:

Thanks for the nice comments. I'm pretty pleased with them considering the fact
that I lose Mars in the trees just as it hits about 35 degrees of altitude!

OUCH! I hear ya about the crappy weather though. The one night it was clear
recently, the seeing was terrible and I wasn't even getting momentary
"glimpses" of surface detail.

Cheers,
Jeff

Thanks for the nice shots. Now I can see what I was attempting to sketch
with my 80mm refractor last night. Don
