Does anyone sell a 1.25" Crayford focuser besides Jim's Mobile? The JMI
models have a fixed base radius that does not match my scope and they won't machine a custom curve. All I really want is the usual universal fit base. Del Johnson |

You're right, and it's a shame their "minimum" size is a 5" radius. I had
one of their 1-1/4" focusers with, I think, a 10" radius for my 6" reflector, and I had to "pull it tight" with the 4 mounting screws and the leveling screws. Of course, since the base does not fit flush with the tube, you have to be very vigilant about how you adjust the leveling screws. I have the same problem with the 2" RCF focuser. Howard Lester "Del Johnson" wrote Thanks. I asked JMI about the mini-2 NGF focuser but they really were not interested in altering the base for me. I am trying to get something to fit a 6-inch reflector, but their focuser is designed for a 10-inch tube. You would think that a 1.25" focuser would be designed for a smaller telescope. Del Johnson |
