I have posted about 10 photos of Xcalak and vicinity on my web site,
with a review of the dark sky conditions there. This was my fourth trip to Mexico in search of dark skies and the first really successful one. It's a 6-hour drive from the Cancun airport down to Belize, but worth the trip if you want really dark skies, thanks to the lack of electricity in the area. My review is at: http://home.fuse.net/astronomy/xcalak.html. No photos of stars because I didn't take a telescope--just big binoculars. Also, we go for the diving as well as the astronomy. Clear skies! Larry Brown |
