Default Did anybody do any Meteor Shower watching this month?


Well, not me. insert sad face here

But, I did get the telescope out from the corner where it was
gathering dust....

Being in a too well lighted metro area sucks.

Well, you missed a good Perseid shower. Quite impressive, even from the
center of light polluted cities and with a pretty good sized Moon.
Here's from the very center of Denver:

meteors brighter than mag 1 between 9pm and dawn on August 13.

Default Did anybody do any Meteor Shower watching this month?

Here in West-Central Iowa, I stepped out on the night of the 11th, and
saw one meteor in about 15 minutes of watching. Dud city. I went out
the next night though, and saw a pretty good show with about one
Perseid per minute. If it hadn't been for the moon, this would have
been a pretty impressive show.
