Mick,
More something like this? http://users.erols.com/dgmoptics/digital_mars_90ats.htm Dan McShane "Mick" wrote in message . .. It seems to me that it is a misnomer referring to Mars as "red". It is anything but red! At 150 - 200 X's the colour is a sandy beige with a reddish hue. In the sky Mars looks more red-yellow and reminds me of a what a spark looks like from a campfire. I wonder what that sandy-reddish beige would look like as wallpaint? I find it a rather warm clour myself. Any thoughts? --- Outgoing mail is certified Virus Free. Well, Mick, here's the definitive? color of Mars. Since accurate color
perception is subjective, maybe we should start a poll ;-). http://hubblesite.org/newscenter/arc...999/07/image/b For me, it never looked that orange like Mars came from Florida to me ;-). Thanks Ron,
I`m going to try it again, but from a rough sketch though, (and hope for better seeing). There`s no doubt that lesser seeing washes out contrast and color richness. Dan McShane P.S. Ron you do some real NICE drawings. I took a peek at you lastest effort and was mightily impressed! "Ron B[ee]" wrote in message news:TJBVa.14087$ff.4051@fed1read01... Nice Dan! Very close, darker in my 4-inch TV-102 Light Cup maybe :-(. Ron B[ee] -------------- "Dan McShane" wrote in message ... It was less stormy on the planet's surface then as now, and consequently redder...almost a brick red. Alan |

Ron B[ee] Yeah..but lighter in my scope...if you brighten it up and reduce the contrast , you get real close. So close that its not worth splitting hairs... I need to find my monitor calibration app... otherwise we're not comparing the same thing. Right? |

Mick,
This is the Mars color as seen through my Mak-Cass MK67. Its color looks different through my uncoated-corrector C8. I think its color somewhat depends on the coating on optics. http://se-ed.net/lyra/Mars_processed.jpg Chote "Mick" wrote in message ...
