Insider Trading Stats for Maker of the Shuttle Solids (ATK)

ATK Alliant Techsystems Inc makes the shuttle solids
among many other things.

Sells $2,353,011 ($1,346,536 in the last 3 months)

The last time an insider bought ATK stock was between
one and two years ago, a purchase of $11,002

The chart pattern reeks of manipulation. Can't see market behavior
anywhere except recently, the price drops and rises are so consistent
and sustained you could make a straight-edge out of them.

This happens when institutions own 98.97% of the float (gawd).
You could fit all the big shareholders on a nice cool yacht.

Hint, if a few people hold all the stock, and agree among themselves
not to sell, they can't lose. Like in the good 'ol days, before the Internet
let the rest of us play too.

So as you can see all the larger shareholders are quietly
cashing out about 10-15% in the last few months.
Looks like the idea is to try to sucker in the little guys to replace
them while they slowly cash out in an organized, even
orchestrated manner.

So the little guys get left holding the bag ...whenever the hammer drops.

Here's a company that's heavily reliant on Iraq related defense
sales, and NASA solid rocket motors. I think it's a fair statement
to say The Stick and the Moon missions are not yet signed, sealed
and delivered. But are under review at the very least, and might even
be considered uphill battles.

But the ATK VP...just last week issued a press release where he
states matter of fact-like that one of their larger accounts, NASA
will continue to be cash cow....all the way to the Moon.

and Institutions are selling off in a substantial way.

They call that "the pump and dump", and it is AGAINST THE LAW

Its all part of the box ticking and marketing culture we have these days,

From what I read there's 3 main Divisions.
ATK Armament Systems, ATK Mission Systems and ATK
Space Systems. The first is doing very well, selling all kinds of
ammunition. The second and third will suffer if Iraq and general
military spending goes down. And the third would lose maybe
half it's sales if the Stick gets canceled, the other half is all kinds
of tactical military rocket motors.

Things look fine for the next couple of years, but after that
the risk of restructuring would increase quite a bit I would think
since NASA is really the only major non-military sales.

I certainly wouldn't put my 401k into this.

Yep, you gotta watch our for yourself these days.
What ticks me off about this kind of thing, the big guys
selling while saying "all's fine", is that the institutions
aren't fooled by it, they know what's what before
anyone else. It's the individual investor that gets hurt
by this kind of stuff.
