Default ....On August 25, 2005 The World Evolved!

The cause of global warming is also it's solution.

The processes of Darwinian evolution, which we all know
and love, are responsible for the emergence of intelligence.
A huge evolutionary step which is responsible for dramatically
increasing the amount of life that can be supported.
Which is the ultimate source of global warming.

What is the next large evolutionary step above intelligence?

The Wisdom which flows from the ...collective... intelligence of the
entire planet. Which the Internet age has recently allowed to emerge.

The US was the last hold-out with the world wide consensus
on global warming. Hurricane Katrina was the last straw
with public opinion in America.

Hurricane Katrina on August 25, 2005 was the tipping point where
the world produced the collective decision to begin managing our
global environment in a sustainable way.

Perhaps the primary sign of 'civilized' life. Or Wisdom.

The global decision to accept and act on climate change is the day
Wisdom evolved on Earth. This is every bit as magnificent an event
as the first intelligence, or even the first life. Like a power law or
earthquake pattern of events, such large evolutionary steps are rare
massive and sudden, easily overwhelming all that came before.

As far as I'm concerned we live in a brand new world of
unknowable potential.

Imho
