It's early on -- the first session just ended and I'm in a computer lab
sitting in front of a Dull, waiting for Warren Keller to begin the AstroArt seminar. A few vendors have exhibits in the foyer outside the main conference center -- SBIG, Bisque, Yankee Robotics, "Uncle" Al Nagler, Finger Lakes, et al. Software Bisque, which recently introduced The Sky X Student Edition for Mac and Windows, is showing an early version of TheSky X Professional Edition. It will be avialable for Linux, Mac OS, and Windows. The big news from Bisque (maybe everyone else knew this) is that they will incorporate CCD camera control, TPoint, and AutomaDome _into_ The Sky X. (I forgot to ask about PrecisionPEC). It remains to be seen how the built-in camera control will affect the future of CCDSoft, or perhaps some new image-processing software. The advanced versions of TheSky X will be released after all the requisite drivers (and that's lots of them) have been developed and tested. -- Douglas George (MaximDL) is showing the next version of the software, and "thinking hard" about a Mac version.
