Again a reasenable clear night last night.
Manage to take 16 shots at 120 sec exposure.... (still not enough shots Richard but the nebula sunk behind the houses in front of me..). Mounted the focal reducer behind my 10"SCT to get a larger field of view with the "dragon head" also included in the frame. Unfortunetly i had some trouble with the camera and the wiring (my setup is not permanently so i have to hook up my scope and camera everytime and i think it's beginning to wear out...) so that also resulted in less frames than i planned.. I used the H-Alpha filter again. No special guiding used. Thanks for looking -- Dirk van den Herik A journey of thousand lightyears starts with the first step. |

glad to see that you got to shoot it Dirk even if the darn thing got too low
in the sky. and it came out pretty well too considering the position in the sky it isn't easy from my latitude either but the result seems to compensate since it is such an interesting and magnificent target the halpha filters sure are fun to use huh? I kept saying I'd do it again this year on a night of good seeing but when such a night came around I had too many "new" objects on the list. I can't seem to get back to this guy for some reason. Even though it is even lower in your sky than mine you got about as much resolution as I did and in far less time. Maybe the clouds will let you add to it in the near future. Thanks Richard, what the H-Alpha cocerns, yep it's a great thing to use and
fun seeing things that normally aren't visible. Do you have any hints for me as next object with the H-Alpha filter?
