Fingerlakes makes some all right cameras and the source-code availab driver can be compiled (and works) at least with Linux. I have not tested the BSD or Win version of the drivers. focus control could be achieved with a tiny additional program which reads the frame, does a Gaussian and tries to adjust the focus depending on the FWHM change (minimising the FWHM in both perpendicular axis).
