Default The Outlook problem

I notice they seem to have an Outlook problem on the Shuttle.

This seems to be a common problem and I'm surprised nobody knows about it.

What I've done in the past is to use control alt delete to bring up task
manager, and odds are an occurrence of Outlook will be in there, though it
will in fact not be running in fact.

If one then terminates Outlook, and after the dire warnings about doing
this, it will go away, and allow the Outlook to be run again.

Windows is just so predictable.

Its not just Outlook I've seen this with, Outlook Express and even real
player in the past.

Rather suggests the restriction is intentional - a form of censorship?

Interesting that they have telecom infrastruicture that allows them to
access drives remotely, but they can't do something that has fewer
bandwidth requirements such as SMTP or POP to transfer emails.

The problem I heard described does not seem to be what you are talking
about. Rather it is that Windows insists that Outlook is running in the
current user account, and yet it has been closed. As I have said, I and no
doubt others have seen this. It seems to be a phantom entry in task manager
which causes the problem though why its there is something only Windows
knows. I have had a spate of Access doing the same. I think it might be only
with certain versions of the OS and Office which for some reason cause it
intermittently.

Bit like the stupid French only dictionary bug in Outlook Express if Office
2007 is used.
