When choosing the last object for a recent night of imaging I decided to
reshoot NGC 5676 in Hercules. Remembering my last version of this galaxy from 2002 (to be found at http://ccd-astronomy.de/temp/5676-40gut.jpg ) I didn't expect a lot from it, but I had to decide fast because only one hour remained before the end of astronomical twilight and NGC 5676 was the first that came to my mind. The full moon was up, but it was so low in the horizon dust that it was barely noticeable. Seeing was excellent. Taken from the middle of Berlin with an 8" SCT at f/6.5, G11 mount, SXV-H9 camera, 19x5 minutes. The picture can also be found at http://ccd-astronomy.de/temp/5676-19x5gut.jpg Stefan |
