Hi all,

This is an 11 mosaic image of the crater Humboldt that lives in the
libration zone close to the eastern limb of the Moon.

Exquisite,

A remarkable, tack-sharp image. Humboldt has
got everything. Thanks for the post.

This is absolutely stunning! If anyone can point me to a better image of
this crater, please do so.

I hope you used the good seeing for additional images from the immediate
area.

Anthony.

Wow, outstanding image. Sharpest one I've seen of this gem.

I'm assuming this crater is typical of many, but the oblique view and
high resolution are showing morphology I've not seen before in any
other. Fascinating.

Incredible image ! At first I thought it was a spacecraft show
(Apollo). Great work Pete ! Thanks for sharing this with us.

There are lots of details I didn't know were visible from earth.

Chris, I hope you don't mind, but I was interested in seeing what a
colorized version of this image would look like, so I took the liberty of
tweeking it a bit in photoshop to see if I could enhance the contrast using
false color. Here is the result:

Assuming the resolution is there for a 2 page spread , you should contact
the picture editor of the national Guardian newspaper. Their centre spread,
today, was somewhat wasted on a distant pic of a few elephants in the Namib
desert.
