You objectively trained folks have it all so backwards. Relying on
'facts' and details of the past in order to predict the future.
And thus gain control over the present. That doesn't work.
The world is non-linear, and unpredictable.

If your 'modern' method gives almost zero ability to predict the future.
The reverse must do just the opposite. The way around the problem
of /predicting/ the future of a non-linear world is to replace detailing
reality, with imagining the future.

The more accurate or detailed our imagination is of the future
the more likely we can make the proper decisions needed
to make that future a reality. And the better chance we have
of knowing in advance what our future is to be.

Also, the path to finding personal contentment /today/ is in the hope
and promise of a better future. So, imagining a better future is the
path to improving the present, and should be our highest scientific
/and/ personal priority.
