Well, in fact that is pretty much what he said, and it was most
certainly an important factor in his heresy trial.

A major part of his
heresy was for supporting the new scientific understanding of
his day. The Church was killing people who advanced accurate
knowledge. That was Tyson's point, and it was well made.

The Church *paid* for the Age of Enlightenment.


Accidentally. I have little doubt they did not get the outcome they
expected! Knowledge. The killer of religion.
