My favorite USENET posting of all time was from the guy selling the
zero-delay transmission line. Consisted of several series connected
in-line amplifiers operating off a DC-bias on a coaxial cable. Included
oscilloscope photos of outgoing and returned incoming sine-wave signal
showing perfect phase alignment after a 1 meter run.
Only one small engineering problem. The so-called transmission line was
not properly terminated. The only thing being measured was a reflected
standing-wave coming back from the first active amplified stage....
