Initially people do feel shock and horror (after all, Paul Davies is a
great time traveller) and wait but no Great Revolution in Science
comes from around the corner. Then people go and see and find there is
no Great Revolution in Science around the corner. Just "a few maverick
scientists" taking away the money they have been given for finding a
solution to the fundamental problem: "How can Einstein's light
postulate be violated without violating it?". Finally, people decide
to pay no attention to any "maverick scientists" who claim Einstein's
light postulate is false. So Special Relativity becomes Forever
Special relativity.
