No, ending the dominion of death over our fellow human beings is not misguided,
it is demanded by basic ethics.
Recognizing, however, that even commendable actions have negative consequences,
against which precautions need to be taken, is also necessary.
We have over-reacted to the horrors of Nazism, and that has given eugenics a
bad name. But reproduction is a privilege, not a right; that is why we are able
to punish rape as a crime.
