I *think* I read / saw something a few weeks ago about a simulator run
where the CDR's controls got disabled. So Cernan pushed Schmitt out of
the way and took over from the other side. ICBVW.

According to http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Eugene_Cernan:

"However, in Cernan's words, Schmitt proved a capable LM pilot. "

But that might just mean capable *co*-pilot.
